MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERVISOR
Most students may have bad experience in examination. In fact, many educators believe examination is always not the best way to assess students, but it is hardly to find an alternative to take place.In my teaching experience in the universities in greater-China, most Chinese students are keen on sitting for an examination, but they are lack of vision, creative mind and independent thinking. Perhaps they have spent most of their time in preparing for an examination, rather than doing research and study in a topic in accordance with their interest.For the sake of improving their mentality in learning, the programmes that our centre is providing do not require our students to sit for examinations. Instead, they will be assessed by their performance in class, as well as course works, assignments, and other written materials such as dissertations. We believe this kind of assessment may reflect the reality of a student’s level in study.Maybe there is some dispute in the measures we implement. Nevertheless, we hope our students could enjoy the fun of study with the programme they choose, and will never be stressed by the examination.We believe a people will enjoy a life-long benefit by his life-long learning.
